Pastor James Malinga is also a founder of Mountains of Hope Childrens Ministries in Uganda.  James is married to Lilian Malinga, James and Lilian have been married since 2008 and since have been blessed with five children. They were called into child care Ministry with Mountains of Hope in 2009 a year after their first marriage anniversary. James also worked as a social worker at World Vision Uganda for nearly Ten years. James’ job exposed him to the horrors of neglect that plague orphaned children as a result of HIV/AIDS , these children were left to fend for themselves, malnourished and abandoned by their communities, distraught by these circumstances, James and Lilian decided to care for 13 orphans in their home. Mountains of Hope resettled all children following government’s directive to orphanages in Uganda. Mountains of Hope now implements a sustainable holistic community programme approach, that caters for the entire household need such as education, empowering girls to manage menstruation through trainings on sanitary pad sewing, a programme that has enabled over 500 girls to train others in their communities, also testimonies around the communities indicate that since the introduction of the programe, Mountains of Hope programmes have also empowered communities with business skills, nutrition trainings, group savings skills, parenting skills as well as providing HIV basic support to households with HIV infected children and guardians.
